This is a special pattern to me. The design was inspired by the smell and feeling when I fly into Portland and walk out of the airport for christmas with my family. Pine, dampness and just enough chill for some wet snow, its unmistakable and gives me that feeling of home.

This classic cowl is simple in shape (but with clever details) and easy to wear. Its great for gift knitting and an engaging project for the knitter. If you have one special skein of handspun, this is a great project to stretch it and really feature it in a special way.

Thank you so much for your support of Ports and Pine. I cant wait to see your cowl! Please use the tag #portsandpinecowl to share with me on instagram! Seeing your yarn choices and watching your progress is the greatest joy. Happy knitting!
