Potpourri Cap
As Autumn settles in, I always gravitate towards moody shades, and pieces with a romantic feeling. The flowers in my garden reflecting the warm greens, golds, and dusty mauves, selected for this design. The Potpourri Cap checked all the right boxes, a blend of classic stranded colorwork, with botanical shapes, on deep charcoal background.
Yarn:
My sample is knitted a stash-busting combo of sock leftovers. Jamieson & Smith Shetland 2 ply for the MC, with a sprinkling of deep stash Rauma Garn, Rambler, and Bio Shetland.
The cap knits up in standard fingering weight yarn. Below you can find colorway suggestions for this design in Jamieson & Smith.
Needles:
I knitted my sample on size US 5/3.75 mm and US 4/3.5 mm needles.
The design features a 1x1 rib brim, followed by a round of eyelets, before diving into a floral colorwork sampler. It’s worked brim-up in the round, and the pattern offers three sizes, Kids Medium, Adult S/M, and Adult Large/XL.
