POTTED PLANTS #01 - FLOWER

Always green, always blooming, always pretty. :)
And all that without watering. Even the location doesn’t matter to this low-maintenance plant: sunny, shady, total darkness… From what other flower can you say that? :)

It even brings its own soil. Which, by the way, can be individually fitted to a pot of your liking. Tips on how to find the perfect size for your pot can be found within this pattern as well, of course.

Oh, and don’t panik, this flower can be made almost without any kind of sewing! The petals and leaves are crocheted on during the pattern. So they always sit perfectly in place.

❤ Crochet skill level: easy to medium

❤ Size: 17 cm (the part above the soil)
The size depends on the gauge and yarn you’re using.
I’m using Puppets Lyric yarn from Coats and a 3 mm hook.

The flower is crocheted in continuous rounds/spirals;
rounds are not joined;
use a stitch-marker to mark the beginning of each round;

  • magic ring (recommended)
  • chain
  • single crochet

  • double crochet
  • slip stitch
  • increase and (invisible) decrease
  • crocheting in front loops & back loops (instructions included)

  • crochet hook (size depends on your yarn)
  • stuffing
  • tapestry needle
  • scissors
  • stitch-marker (recommended; I use a paper clip or a piece of scrap-yarn)
  • long stuffing tool (I use a wooden cooking spoon)
  • yarn in the colors of your liking (I use Puppets Lyric 8/8 yarn)
  • a heavy flower-pot

If you are making the figure for a child, washable yarn and stuffing is recommended.
