I love Doctor Who, and it gets bitterly cold where I live. But I didn’t want a 14+ foot scarf tripping me up while grocery shopping.

So I did a little work with row numbers, and came up with a functional scarf that’s still screams Doctor Who. I made it ribbed because I prefer ribbed scarves, and narrower because I am not 6 feet tall and the more “authentic” wide scarf would look ridiculous on me.

The finished scarf is almost 6 feet long- so it’s still a nice long (reasonable) scarf that can be doubled up if needed.

The hat is knit in ribbing as well, and fits my niece in the picture just as well as it fits me!

WARNING: This pattern uses custom dyed yarn. Color ratios as well as packet numbers (for kool aid) and brands used are included in the instructions if you wish to dye your own. All colors used for dying are easily found at your local cake shop, mega mart or online.

Also included in this pattern are the row counts for all the colors on a separate page for easy printing and marking off as you go.

Here are some Techknitter posts to help with all those stripes on the hat! Happy knitting!
