The Prairie Winters Fingerless Mitts are cozy and functional, and they are super quick to knit up!  The wrist displays a pair of Latvian Braids with a fun, textured stripe in the center. No need to worry if you haven’t made Latvian braids before - the pattern will teach you how!

The pattern is written with 3 sizes for women: small, medium, and large. In the sample in the photos I used 2 different wool yarns: Polwarth for the main colour, and Rambouillet for the contrast colour; but you can use any DK or medium (4) weight yarn for this project.  Choose 2 contrasting colours. In order to make the large size, you will need approximately:
Main Colour: 110yds/101m
Contrast Colour: 35yds/32m
(If making the small or medium sizes you will need a little less).

If you like having a matching set, check out the Prairie Winters Cowl pattern (which includes a video tutorial).

Have fun and keep cozy!
