I was digging through a stitch dictionary and saw the primrose stitch, which looks like a dino alphabet foot from Dinotopia, thought “hmm!”. I wanted to set up a piece like two dinos in the ferns looking at each other, and I wanted one much bigger than the other.

So I kind of sourced stitches from that – I found a big cable for a big eye and I went with the St Johns Wort stitch for the little eyes. I wanted a big foliage panel in the middle, went with the basic fern stitch. Then we have two dino foot tracks on either side – the big eye gets two and the little eyes get one.

The result is a stand off between a big guy and a little guy, and their feet form the borders.

This pattern is still in testing but I wanted to put it up anyway.
