This scarf has five staggered, left-leaning cable twists, which create a diagonal effect. Each are separated by a single twisted knit stitch to give the cables more dimension. The scarf also has a slipped garter stitch border, which creates a lovely, clean, twisted edge.

Gauge is not really important. Just choose your favorite cozy worsted or bulky-weight yarn and cast on. Make it as wide or as long as you desire - Just be sure you have an odd number of cables to balance out the staggered twists.
