This shawlette is knit in one piece starting with Pretty Parasols lace edging and then the body of the shawlette is worked into a crescent shape using short rows. The small uses one skein (440 yds) of blockable sock yarn. The medium and large use 2 skeins; they may be matching, coordinating or complimentary.

The Pretty Parasols lace edging has patterning on both the right and wrong sides. The decrease in the number of pattern stitches shape the parasol and also help form the crescent shape of the shawlette. The interesting combination of lace and simple stockinette stitches, combined with the unique construction of the lace edging makes this a fun and fast project. The pattern for the Pretty Parasols lace edging is written, not charted.
