The Feather and Fan stitch is one of those stitches that can be used for so many projects.
Whether it is a scarf, a hat or, as in this example, mittens and hand warmers, the effect is stunning!
With this relative easy pattern you can achieve a spectacular result.
I’ve chosen multicoloured yarns for these mittens and hand warmers in ‘peacock’ colours, you can see why….

The mittens and hand warmers are suitable for size 7 – 8 = hand circumference 17 – 20 cm and are knitted in the round on DPN.

These mittens and hand warmers were published in the book ‘Handschoenen en wanten brei je zo’ in the Netherlands in 2011. The book is not available any more as is the used yarn of Crystal Palce, Mini Mochi.
The yarn is easy replaceable by any sock yarn in rainbow or peacock colours, like Lang Yarns – Jawoll Magic Dégradé or Mille Colori Socks & Lace, also by Lang Yarns. Choose a yarn that is a single-ply for the best result.

You need 50 grams of yarn for these gorgeous hand warmers.
You might need a bit more for the mitttens if you want to finish the thumbs in the same colour. (if you go for a 100 gram skein it will be more than enough)
