Pride Top
Enjoy the Pride Top pattern for free for the remainder of June 2026, in celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride month! In lieu of payment for a pattern, consider donating to any/all of the causes linked below.
The Pride Top is a cropped V-neck top, knit in vibrant vertical stripes of color and contrasting mesh. The design’s intention is to celebrate the many Pride flags and their colors. Makers are of course welcome to knit this top in any colors they wish, though selecting to wear colors that show one’s pride is the ultimate goal of the design. The Pride Top would look fabulous in any pride flag color scheme.
The top is knit side-ways, casting on at the right sleeve and binding off at the left sleeve. There are 2 finishing options for this design: A one-piece tee or a cardigan with a front button band. Separate instructions for each of these options are outlined in the pattern. The pattern includes black and white schematics for all sizes - Try coloring in your chosen size’s schematic to plan out the stripe pattern in advance!
Side Seam & Sleeve Length: The odd and even sizes of this pattern have different side seams and sleeve lengths due to its stitch patterns, wide size range, and 4” finished chest increments, allowing nearly any body to make and wear this design. The body’s side seams for odd sizes meet in the middle of a garter stripe, while the even sizes meet in the middle of a lace stripe. Sleeves for odd sizes are 6.5” long and even sizes are 5.5” long. Please keep this in mind when choosing a size if you have side seam and sleeve preferences.
