Use two colors of wool and larger needles, and this pattern will make a spectacular scarf! This dishcloth pattern lends itself very well to scarves as well. The pattern can be worked on any even number of stitches.

This dishcloth / washcloth is based on Brioche rib stitch, or what Elizabeth Zimmerman named “Prime Rib”. If you are new to Brioche stitch, this pattern is the easiest one to learn! It can be a little tricky to make that yarn-over at the beginning of a row, but once the pattern becomes familiar you can fall into a great rhythm.

This stitch is naturally very loose, so I’ve tightened it up a bit for the dishcloth by going to smaller needles.
