Since it’s too early to plant flowers here in the Midwest, I decided to make a scarf which would satisfy my craving for a bit of cheerful spring colour. I had read somewhere that embroidery floss was a great source for crocheters--gorgeous shades in small amounts at a reasonable price. That sparked the idea for this scarf: a garland of bright flowers linked together with crochet leaves.

You could make the flowers with crochet thread or a lightweight yarn if you like; any worsted weight yarn should work for the leaves.
