These fingerless mittens are constructed from the hand to the wrist. They can be easily lengthened to go up the arm.

They start from a beaded Long-tail cast-on and move into an easy lace pattern on the back of the hand. The lace is accented with beads that are placed as you knit with a small crochet hook. The beads are optional.

The mittens are designed with a definite left and right fit; the thumb gusset is short and knit in stockinet. The palm of the hand is ribbed with a 1 x 1 ribbing, making for a close fitting mitten. Knit in the round with dpn’s.
