This bottom up sweater was knit to use up some of my bits and pieces. The sport weight yarn is held double throughout the entire pattern.
I chose a variegated color to work the whole sweater in and held a solid colors with the variegated to change the overall effect of the sweater.

Pictured sweater is variegated watercolors held double with dark teal (bottom), teal (middle), and robin egg (top).

This makes the sweater a fast knit with chunky weight equivalent yarn. You could make it with chunky yarn and will only need 1/2 the suggested yardage, because yarn is held double.

Gauge
12 sts x 18 rows = 4x4in. (10x10cm) in ribbed pattern. If you do the math on the gauge you will think the sweater will be gigantic. Because the sweater is knit in a ribbed pattern it is smaller with the ability to stretch to a larger number.
The sample sweater was knit using the smallest size and the person it fit is a 32” chest, however it will stretch to fit a 40” person. The extra width does however take up some of the length.

Materials
Needle Sizes: US 8-5.0 mm in 16” and 32” circulars.
Stitch markers, stitch holder or scrap yarn, tapestry needle.
Yarn used: Sport Weight
Yarn is held double throughout the entire pattern.
Main color (MC): 300(400, 400, 500, 500, 600) grams. Contrasting
color(CC): uses same amounts as MC. I chose three different
colors from my extras to make a color transition effect. I started
with the darkest working to the lightest.
This is a great way to use up all those bits and pieces.
