These convertible mittens are just the thing for keeping fingers cozy but also accessible on cold winter days. The mitts feature a striking cable pattern that begins at the wrist and runs up to the fingertips, as well as a warm internal glove that wraps around the fingers.

The mitts are knit in the round in one piece, with the cable panel running up the back of the hand and continuing along the length of the flap. A set of increases allows for the flap and inner glove to be split, then worked separately. The gloves are finished with an afterthought thumb.

The cable pattern is written and charted.
