Pattern Premise:
Propagate is a very diverse word with multiple meanings. It can mean to reproduce, to impel forward, or to generate. All of these convey what I was trying to represent with this baby blanket.

See, my beloved’s best friend and wife have been trying for a while to have their first child. After multiple miscarriages and fertility treatments, we were told of their rainbow baby’s imminent arrival. Given their history, they were still worried and only told a handful of non-family members till almost the end.

Their sweet little boy was born in June on Father’s Day. He is his parents’ joy and their dream brought to life, even if it is tinged with sadness over those previously lost.

He keeps hope moving forward and has brought light back into their lives. He is the center of their world now and all things going forward radiate from him, as it is with all children.

As this family now moves forward with their little ray of light, I hope this blanket stays with him and lets him know how loved and cherished he will always be and has always been.

May you use this pattern to give that same message to the little one to which you gift it. Children keeps us going, while we are here and long after we are gone.
