Things you need:

  • 150-200 yards of yarn, split into two colors if you so wish. (includes pom pom yarn). I had about 30 yards left over, and I had around 175 yards.
  • 4.0mm crochet hook (infant/ 1yr) (4.5mm hook 2yrs)

Terms Used:

  • hdc: half double crochet st
  • Puff st: three half-finished double crochet sts in the same st, finished off together (picture tut of st provided)
  • st: stitch
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • dc: double crochet
  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet

Gauge/Sizing

Gauge: toddler 1-year old version measures 8.5 (vertically) by 6 (horizontally) inches not including pom pom or ears. When working puff st + ch 1, there is 1.5 puff sts per inch. When working the hdc brim, there are 3 hdc sts per inch.
