Use up a bunch of your scrap yarn and make yourself a super cute & practical belt bag with this crochet pattern! This bag is fully lined and has a zipper closure, and can hold your phone and a few small essentials. The bag made the same size as the pattern holds a phone up to 6 inches tall, but can easily be made larger or smaller! This pattern uses worsted weight yarn, but you can use any size yarn and hook with the pattern, the only thing that will change is the size, so play around to make it the size you want. Purchase a slide buckle to make the strap adjustable! Instructions are included for the lining, zipper, and adjustable strap.

Pattern level: Intermediate. The crochet itself is simple, but the sewing pieces together, as well as the lining and zipper, add difficulty.

Sizes included: one size, about 7.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches tall, but you can make it any size

Materials needed:

  • worsted (weight 4) yarn, can do all one color or use up scrap yarn
  • 5mm and 4mm hooks
  • yarn needle
  • fabric for the lining
  • 9 inch zipper
  • sewing thread & needle, plus some pins or clips
  • optional: 1 inch slide buckle
