Pumpkin costume
The perfect little pumpkin costume for halloween with a matching beanie. This comes in 7 different sizes and includes st counts and measurements.
For the pumpkin we will make the front piece, back piece then attach together and add trim. You will have a choice of different appliques for the face. You can either sew these on or use buttons to attach them to make them interchangeable. Scrap yarn is perfectly fine for the appliques.
For the beanie, we will create one large panel and then attach together and add the stalk, leaf and vine. You could also adapt this pattern to turn it into an orange or other various fruits. Again scrap yarn is fine for the stalk and leaf.
To find the best size for your little one, measure from the top of their shoulder to their crotch. Choose the size closest using the “diameter of circle” measurement. The pumpkin will stretch but if you’re undecided, it could be worth sizing up so it fits for longer. You can make your circle first and decide if you need to size up or down depending on how it’s measuring.
If you find you need the arm/leg holes smaller or larger, you can add/subtract rows for the panels that are made off the initial circle. I haven’t included the measurements as they stretch and already fit multiple sizes. I’d suggest making both pieces first and holding it against your little one.

This is a quite a thorough pattern and although I have had it tested, mistakes still slip through. Please let me know if you come across any.
