Pumpkin Head is a slouchy cabled hat pattern knit with a flat garter brim. Stitches are picked up to knit the crown. Buttons make it easy to adjust the size, and the pattern also includes instructions for making a two-color version.

Both samples shown in the pattern are knit in non-wool yarns (both are cotton blends), but you can pick your favorite worsted yarn; the only changes would be to the garter band, which can be knit shorter or longer to allow for more or less elasticity in the yarn.

This pattern was inspired by BY THE GRACE, a YA paranormal mystery available October 6.
