Wool Ordinary Double Knitting.
Colours used, Orange (Jaffa), Pale Rose or Fawn, Black, White.
(or who you are knitting the toy for favourite colour- he could have a blue jumper instead of black and white)
2 orange teddy bear eyes

Feet and Legs
Right
Using black cast on 29 sts, then purl 1 row
Next row; K1, inc in next 27sts, K1 - 56sts
Next row; P32sts, put marker between last st on right-hand needle and next st on left-hand needle, then purl to the end of row
Beginning with a knit row, continue with st-st and work 12 rows

Shape top of foot
Next row; K8 (K2tog) 16 times, K16 - 40sts
Next row; Purl 1 row
Next row; K6 (K2tog)10 times, K14 - 30sts
Next row; Purl 1 row
Break off Black

Leg
Start with Orange for leg
Do 4 Rows Orange then 4 Rows Rose stripes for 20 rows
ending with 2 Rose rows - 22 rows in total
Leave sts on spare double-pointed needle

Left
Using black cast on 29 sts, the purl 1 row
Next row; K1, inc in next 27sts, K1 - 56sts
Next row; P24, put marker between last st on right-hand needle and next st on left-hand needle, then purl to the end of row
Beginning with a knit row, continue with st-st and work 12 rows

Shape top of foot
Next row; K16, (K2tog) 16 times, K8 - 40sts
Next row; Purl 1 row
Next row; K14, (K2tog) 10times, K6 - 30sts
Next row; Purl 1 row
Break off Black

Leg
Start with Orange for legs
Do 4 Rows Orange then 4 Rows Rose stripes for 20 rows
ending with 2 rose 22rows in total

Body and Head
With right side of work facing and using rose, knit across the 30sts of left leg the 30 sts of right leg on spare needle - 60sts.
Next row; Purl row with rose
Now do 4 row stripes starting with Orange wool for20 rows

Next is upper body,
You will need 2 small balls of black and 1 bit of white
Divide sts as follows, Knit 22 black, knit 16 white, knit 22 black
Do this for a total of 8 rows
Keeping colours correct so 16 white is always in the middle
Next row; K11 (k2tog) 5 times, K18,(k2tog) 5 times, K11 - 50 sts
Next do 7 rows st-st
Next row; K11, (K2tog) 3 times, K16, (K2tog) 3 times, K11 - 44 sts
Next do 3 rows keeping colours correct

Shape Neck
K2 K2tog to end of row - 33sts
Break of black and white
Next start with Orange
St-st 5 Rows

Shape Head
K1 (m1, K1) to end - 65sts
(m1 = Make 1 stitch by lifting wool between sts. and knit into back to make new stitch
Next row Purl row
Next row Inc in first st then (K1 inc in next st) to last 2 sts, inc in next st, then K1 - 98sts
Next row Purl row
Next row K3 P2 to last 3 sts then K3
Do 35 rows in Rib

Top of Head
Next row K3 K2 tog, to last 3 sts, K3
Next row Purl
Next row K2 K2tog to last 3 sts, K2tog K1 - 59 sts
Next row Purl
Next row K1 K2tog to last 2 sts, K2 tog - 39sts
Next row P2tog to last 1st, K1 - 20sts
Break of Orange
Now join green wool for top of head stock
Next row Knit
Next row Purl
Next row K2tog to end - 10sts
Next row Purl
Next row K2tog to end 5sts
Do 6 rows st.st.
Run wool through 5sts and sew wool off tight, don’t cut wool
Sew row ends together and gently pull wool to make stock curl over
Fasten off.
To finish off, join row end keeping colour right and leave black part open for stuffing. At feet, sew side seems, then pull marker to front and sew along sole of foot. Turn right side out. Stuff all parts and close black part.

SLEEVES - make 2
Start with Orange
Cast on 12 sts, then Purl 1 row
Next row inc. Knit wise into every st. -24sts
Next do 13 rows st.st. Starting with P row
Break off Orange and start Black
First row K4, (inc in next st, K4) to end - 28sts
Beginning with P row, continue in st.st. and work 27 rows

Shape top
Next row K6 (k2tog) twice, K8 (K2tog) twoce, K8 - 24sts
Purl 1 row
Next row (K1 K2tog) to end - 16sts
Cast off loosely
To finish, gather round 12 sts of hand, pull tight, then sew up row ends, change to black and join row ends together. Turn right side out put sleeve seem in centre, the sew across cast of sts.
Sew Sleeves to side of body 1 row under the last row of black before change to neck orange.

Cuffs - Make 2
Using white cast on 30sts do 3 rows st.st. Cast off.
Sew row ends together. Put on arm at colour change, sew in place

Neck Collar
Using white cast on 56sts do 3 rows st.st. Cast off
Place round neck with cast off stitches at neck and catch first and last stitch together, and sew to neck, flatten down cast off edge and sew to body.

Bow Tie
Using orange cast on 20 sts do 10 rows st.st. Cast off
Join row ends. Put seem at centre back, get strand of white wool and wynd round middle tightly, finish off leaving end for sewing to middle of collar.
Sew few orange stitches down front of white 2rows in between

Face
Sew 2 eye buttons 18 rows up from head increase row and 9 rows apart
Nose is 2 rows down from eye, do a few large stitches in black
Mouth - crochet a black chain and attached first and last stitch 4 rows down from nose but make large enough to stretch 1 stitch out eye position and drop in to a smile
