The pumpkin size depends on the yarn, knitting tension and filling density. In order to keep fabric tight enough so that the stuffing won’t show through, use needles smaller than recommended for the yarn.

This information is just for example (tension is not critical for this pattern, you can use any yarn to make these pumpkins):

Gauge: 32 stitches and 55 rows = 10 cm (in pattern)

Yarn: any Fingering-weight Yarn, for example:
-Drops Fabel (75% Wool, 25% Nylon; 205m / 50g)
-Scheepjes Our Tribe (70% Merino, 30% Nylon; 420m/100g)
For stem: few meters of yarn in a different color

Needles (double pointed or circular):
№2mm (US 0), size depends on your knitting tension

Approximate size of the resulting pumpkin and how much yarn is needed for it:

Small: d ~ 6cm (~2⅜”) — 6 g — 25 m (27 yds)
Medium: d ~ 7.5cm (~3”) — 10 g — 42 m (46 yds)
Large: d ~ 9cm (~3½”) — 15 g — 63 m (69 yds)
