These mitts are worked sideways beginning at the outside of the hand and working across. The thumb is worked in short rows and then seamlessly joined. Then, the other side of the hand is worked and the mitten is grafted together with the kitcheners stitch.
The pattern as written has 3 sizes child (adult small, and adult large) but these can be customized further to achieve your perfect fit. These modifications will be noted in the pattern as you get to them.

Finished Measurements: length: 6.5 (8, 8.5)” circumference (unstretched) 5.5 (7, 7.5)”

Needles: US 3 straight or circular needles, mittens are worked flat, so length not important. If using a circular needles, you may need a spare needle of similar size for placing your live stitches on when you unpick your provisional cast on.
