This Newborn Puppy hat is knitted with the Magic Loop method of knitting on 36” or longer #7 circular needles. Easy-to-follow instructions for Magic Loop are included.

Advanced-beginner skill level.
Features are knitted and sewn on after hat is completed.

SIZE
Newborn to 6 months

MATERIALS
Yarn:
MC: 1 skein WHITE #4 worsted weight
CC: 1 partial skein BLACK #4 worsted weight
Martha Stewart Extra Soft Wool Blend is a great yarn to use for the hat (you can get 2 newborn hats from each skein), but any soft worsted weight yarn will do.

Needles:
Size 7 - 47” circular needle (I recommend the 47” Addi Lace needles, but any 36” or longer needle will work)
or size to obtain gauge
Extra size 7 needle for 3-needle bind off

Gauge:
5 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch worked with a circular needle

Notions:
Stitch markers, tapestry needle, a little bit of polyester fiber fill stuffing for nose, two black 1/2” buttons for eyes
