Tip- to get a flat head, you’ll need to adjust your tension when starting the head. Make your first round with tight stitches, then crochet normally for the rest of the rounds.

Make your own velvet spider with this easy to follow pattern! Finished item will be approximately 7 inches long and 4-5 inches tall. Pattern has been tested! This pattern includes a printer-friendly version. Please note that you will need two pairs of eyes to complete this pattern and two different hook sizes. A list of materials and abbreviations is available below.

3.5 mm Crochet Hook

5 mm Crochet Hook

16 & 20 mm Safety Eyes (One Pair of Each)

Bernat Velvet Yarn, Weight 5, Smokey Green (It’s gray in person), 315 yards (You can make multiple spiders with this amount)

Gray Weight 4 Yarn (or matching color to the Bernat) for sewing on the legs

Go For Faux Lion Brand Yarn, Weight 6, 65 Yards (You won’t need to use much). Color used on legs – Husky. Color used on chelicera – Baked Alaska. (Do NOT grab the Thick N Quick - it’s two strands thicker than needed)
