This sweater, knitted from heavy yarn, is a true layering essential — wear it over a collared shirt, a dress, or a long-sleeved T-shirt to instantly transform your outfit from lounge-ready to polished. The relaxed saddle shoulders extend well beyond the shoulders, and the garment has no traditional sleeves at all. Worked seamlessly from the top down in the round, the sweater gains structure from side decreases that draw in the otherwise generously roomy fit before the ribbed hem.

First, a loose turtleneck-style neckline is worked, after which the front and back are shaped with increases. Once the sweater is wide enough, the front and back are separated and worked flat to the lower edge of the armholes. From there, the work continues in the round, with side decreases before the ribbed hem.
