These mitts features a pattern that creates two right-angled triangles (Pythagorean triangles) over the back of the hand, which inspired me to name the pattern after the famous mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras of Samos.

The pattern is written for an average woman’s hand, but it can easily be adjusted to fit a larger or smaller hand by using a different yarn and/or needle size. This pattern is fairly stretchy and can therefore be ideal for layering over a thin pair of gloves for extra warmth.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions, comments or problems while knitting the mitts.

Happy knitting!
