Pythagoras’ beret is worked bottom up starting with a Latvian braided two-color cast on aka Kihnu braided cast on. Written instructions are included and a photo tutorial can be found in the separate pdf. It’s a lovely way to start colorwork, but you can use any cast on method you might prefer.

Due to the stitch pattern and the placement of the decreases there are only two sizes: one with 144 stitches and 6 repeats of the crown chart and one with 168 stitches and 7 repeats of the crown chart. Instructions are given for both sizes.
