This is an amigurumi pattern for Momo Monkey, one of the two most popular mascots for Q-Kids, a former TEFL company teaching to mostly Chinese children. But she is so darned cute I couldn’t let her disappear.

MATERIALS

  • A 3mm and a 4mm Crochet hook
    • 3mm hook for the face, belly patch, and ears
    • 4mm hook for the arms, legs, tail, and body
  • Worsted weight (size 4) yarn in MAIN (fuchsia/magenta) ACCENT (light pink) and FACE (peach/beige)
    • I used Big Twist Value in MAIN “Magenta”
    • I used RHSS in ACCENT “Petal Pink” and FACE “Beige”
  • Crochet thread #3 in BLACK
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch markers
    • Scrap yarn in a different color works well, but regular markers are fine
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • 12mm safety eyes (can be 10mm also)
  • Fiberfil or stuffing of choice
  • 6” of thin wire (for the TAIL, optional)

  • DC2Tog = Double Crochet decrease across 2 stitches
  • HDC = Half Double Crochet

    • Go into 1st SC and pull up a FRONT LOOP
      • DO NOT YO

    • Finish like a regular SC
  • Changing yarn color without slipknots or cutting thread
  • NOTE: This is worked in continuous rounds, mark beginning with stitch marker
  • NOTE: DO NOT join rounds with an SS unless stated otherwise
  • NOTE: If you crochet loosely, use a 3.5mm crochet hook instead of the 4mm
