QUACKADELIC - sweater
This sweater features a large duckling motif nestled among bulrush plants. Ducks have
always been one of my favourites, and I wanted to capture them in a way that feels soft and a
little playful. It’s knitted using the beautiful John Arbon’s Yarnadelic sport yarn, which really
brings the design to life. The bold, repeating motif runs in a band along the bottom of the
sweater, giving it a strong but charming finish. The name Quackadelic is a little nod to both
the gorgeous Yarnadelic yarn and, of course, my enduring love for ducks.

PATTERN NOTES
Quaemphasized textckadelic is a bottom-up sweater with gentle waist shaping and a relaxed, comfortably wide neckline. A bold colourwork band featuring a repeating duckling motif runs across the lower body, adding a playful touch. The motif is worked from charts. The body is worked in the round from the hem to the underarms. The sleeves
are also worked from the bottom up, with shaping increases, and are then joined to the body at the underarms. The stitches set aside at the underarms for both body and sleeves are grafted together during finishing for a smooth, seamless result.
The borders are worked in a contrasting colour, highlighting the cast-on and cast-off edges, as well as the first and last rounds.
The duckling motif comes in two orientations: one facing right and one facing left, so you can choose your preferred direction. For sizes 1, 3, 5, and 7, where the number of repeats is even, a third chart option is included, placing two ducklings mirrored at the centre front and centre back for a balanced, symmetrical look.
