Yarn: Approx 90g fingering weight yarn (held double). Yarn used in sample is Hypnotic Yarn Plush Sock in the Wild Pansy colorway.
sample was knit with fingering weight yarn held double, however DK weight yarn held single may be substituted if desired.

Gauge: 22 sts and 14 rows = 4” with sz 7 needles in St st.

Size: 9” wide at brim and 8.5” tall. Fits most adult heads.

Needles:

  • Main Needle: US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular needle for hat body plus long circular needle for magic loop or DPN’s for brim decreases.

  • Secondary Needle: long circular needle in a size or two smaller than main needle (or 1 DPN) for picking up brim stitches from waste yarn.

  • Hook: size H/8 (5.0mm) for crochet chain provisional cast on.

Notions: tapestry needle, 1 stitch marker for beginning of round.
