Yarn Requirements: Approximately 1000 yards of a light worsted or DK weight yarn. Other weights of yarn may be used, adjusting needle size accordingly. Remember that changing the weight of yarn will change the yardage needed to make a shawl of the same size.

Shawl pin shown is from Bonnie Maresh Glass Button Co.

Gauge: After blocking, one heart repeat measures 5.5”.

Needles: A 29” or 32” (80 cm) circular in size 9 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge. If using a different weight yarn, adjust needle size accordingly. Shawl is knit at a loose tension to maintain drape and a light lacy look. Use a needle approximately 3 to 4 sizes larger than the yarn label suggests.
