Quick & Easy Knitted Cowl / Neck Warmer
This cowl is my favorite go-to quick knitting project, great for using up the rest of a yarn skein too. It’s super comfy and slides right over your head and keeps your neck warm, plus adds a little pop of color to your outfit.
I made this with worsted weight yarn (about 100-120 yards), and big knitting needles (Size 13/9mm). I knitted it flat since I only had straight needles in Size 13, then seamed up the edges together to make it circular (this makes it VERY beginner friendly). The rows in this are worked vertically, as in the cast on/width is the HEIGHT of the cowl, and the number of rows you do will determine the CIRCUMFERENCE. If you want a taller/shorter scarf, adjust the cast on number to fit what you want.
You can knit in the round on circulars if you like, just alternate knit and purl rows instead of knitting every row to get garter stitch.
