I have made many cowls or short infinity scarfs using this very easy garter stitch pattern that came about by casting on and starting to knit. Knit on big needles and using the popular chunky yarns, it is an inexpensive and quick knit that lets you be cozy and warm when the weather is cold.

The pattern is written in one size but to make it bigger you simply have to add more rows, keeping in mind that you will need more yarn of course. Gauge is not mentioned as, with needles this size, it really is not important.

I make most of mine with one skein of bulky or I get creative and combine finer weights in the same or different colours and textures to make my own bulky weight. What ever you think looks good will work.

This is also a quick and welcome charity knit for cold climates.
