This cozy, fringed poncho works up fast with bulky weight (size 5) yarn and a Size N – 9mm crochet hook. Front and back post double crochet and shell stitches create a beautiful cable texture. The poncho is crocheted in two large rectangles that are sewn together and the 6-inch fringe tassels are simply knotted along the edges.

The yarn used in this project is Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Chunky, available at Hobby Lobby stores. This yarn is at the thinner end of the size 5 category. A thicker size 5 yarn will create a slightly larger poncho.

Materials:
Bulky Weight (size 5) yarn – Soft & Sleek Chunky – 4
Skeins (poncho pictured in Linen)
Crochet Hook: Size N – 9mm
Yarn needle for weaving in ends

The finished poncho measures 26 inches from the center neck to the bottom front point. The sides of the poncho measure about 21 inches from the side of the neckline to the side edge. The neck opening is about 24 inches around. The poncho measures about 36” from side to side at the widest point.
