Fluffy Mohair Sweater - Digital Knitting Pattern

A quick and easy knit.

An easy to follow knitting pattern for advanced beginners, with clear instructions, photo illustrations and tips.

Sweater is knitted in rib stitch and stocking stitch.

Sweater is knitted bottom up on circular and straight 7 mm needles.

Pattern is available in one size, L / XL, which would be a perfect fit for UK size 16 / 18 or US 12 / 14.

The sweater is moderately oversized and is a boxy shape with contrast edging, split sides and button detail.

You will need 900 m of chunky mohair yarn for this sweater (knit single strand).

If you want to knit contrast edging, you will also need 90 m of lace weight yarn (knit triple strand) or 30 m of chunky mohair yarn (knit single strand) in a contrast colour. If you don’t want contrast edging, then 900 m in one colour is sufficient.

I used Nory Kid Mohair / Wool / Nylon yarn in Linen colour (from Nory Yarns on Etsy) for the body of the sweater (knit single strand) and Merino Lace in Citrus Peel colour from Uncommon Thread (knit triple strand) for the orange contrast.

The sweater illustrated uses 9 balls of Nory Mohair Yarn (450 g / 900 m) and 15 g / 90 m of Merino Lace. You could substitute another colour of Nory Mohair Yarn for the contrast edge, (knit single strand), or any lace weight yarn (knit triple strand).

The sweater measures 65 cm across the chest, when measured flat, and 68 cm in length. The sleeves are 48 cm long.

Knitting tension is 15 stitches and 19 rows / 10 x 10 cm square, knitted in stocking stitch on 7 mm needles.

All dimensions given in the pattern are metric.
