At The Cable & Lace Co., we feel that an evening wrap is a mandatory piece of clothing for anyone’s wardrobe. With that in mind, we have designed Quirindi, a beautiful and elegant wrap for all your evening needs. We have named it after a country town in NSW, Australia, where Catherine goes when a night on the town is needed!

Quirindi is of a right angled triangular shape. We have used yarns with different weights to create a textured and interesting look - lace weight (with 2 strands held together), fingering and sports weights. Use one weight or a combination of those weights. A perfect design for diving into your stash and using those gorgeous left over bits that you could not bear to throw away!

The pattern uses an interesting array of stitches and techniques. Garter st, twisted sts, diamond design, moss st, stocking st, 2 wrap knots, Tulle st – these will keep you interested right until bind off.

The pattern has been drafted with neutral language so that it is suitable for left handed knitters. It has also been test knitted.

Yarn requirements are:

Lace (held double), fingering and/or sports weight yarn. You can use one weight throughout or a combination of these weights. Our shawl used the following:

MC - Fingering – 126g - 570y/522m
C1 - Lace held double – 75g – 675y/618
C2 - Sports – 35g – 96y/88m
C3 - Fingering – 25g – 93y/85
C4 - Lace held double – 10g – 92y/84m

Our chosen colours create a perfect evening look that will go with any outfit. Our yarn and colours are:

MC - Brooklyn Tweed Peerie - Black - 125g
C1 - Brooklyn Tweed Vale – Thaw - 75g – Lace weight – 2 strands held together
C2 - Katia Brisa – 1 White 35g – Sports weight
C3 - Bellissimo Airlie – Tin - 25g
C4 - Nuturing Fibres Kidsilk – Silver - 10g – Lace weight – 2 strands held together
