Rabbit's Garden Blanket
Welcome to the Rabbit’s Garden Blanket! This pattern uses mosaic crochet to create a whimsical and sweet garden scene. When I designed this pattern, I felt very inspired by the curious and playful nature of my rabbit, Fergal. The repeating rows of carrots, fresh greenery, and hopping bunnies remind me of watching him explore the garden with boundless energy, sniffing out treats and adventures around every corner. Once you get the hang of things, you are welcome to adjust the size by changing the number of repeats—this pattern works in multiples of 24 stitches, so the sky is the limit! I had so much fun experimenting with earthy colors in this blanket and using art to capture the joy animals bring to our lives. I hope you feel inspired to create your own Rabbit’s Garden Blanket and enjoy the magic of connecting nature and crochet to make something beautiful and unique.
This pattern calls for DK-weight cotton yarn (Category 3) and uses a 4mm hook. While I used Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8, this pattern will work with any fiber, brand, or colors you choose.
The nature of this pattern creates opportunities to play with storytelling through color. The “background” color acts as your canvas, while the contrasting colors paint the garden scene. You can plan out your colors to match the earthy tones I used or follow your heart and use it as a “scrap buster” for the smaller detail rows like the carrot tops or flowers!
This pattern comes with user-friendly charts and a full written pattern.
