A versatile project that can be used as a rug, bed covering, blanket, photo prop, toy, etc.

The whole rug is worked in garter stitch (knit every row), which gives it added texture, as well as ensuring that the edges do not curl. The finished rug will measure approximately 30 inches from the bottom of the feet to the tip of the nose, with about 14 inches across the belly section.

Experiment with gauge - a looser gauge will result in a raccoon that is more suited as a blanket, while a tighter gauge will produce a rug more suited as a rug.
