I have always loved the ease of triangle shawls, but I’ve always found the straight edge at the top makes them hard to wear. A typical triangle shawl is made of two right triangles and have a 180° angle at the top. I decided to experiment with adding a third triangle to make it 270° and found that it sits nicely on your shoulders!

Shawls like this start off very small, but will relatively quickly get bigger. By the end of the pattern, you will have quite a few stitches and will need a long needle. I find it awkward to start with such a long needle though, so I prefer starting short and switching to a longer cord when needed. I like using interchangeable needles so I can lengthen the cord as I go.

The pattern features alternating stockinette and arrowhead lace (AL) sections, finishing off with a mesh lace border. If you’re using repeat stitch markers (which I highly recommend), continue placing additional markers as you increase. Arrowhead Lace repeats are 10 stitches long and marked by {fancy brackets} in written instructions and a red line on the charts.
