Raffia straw fisherman hat
by Judy Lee
This raffia crochet fisherman hat is made using two strands of yarn together, which makes the hat stiffer and less likely to deform.
If you want to use a single strand, you’ll need to adjust the number of increase rounds to achieve the desired head circumference.
Raffia was chosen for its lightweight properties. If you prefer cotton yarn, you can use it as well, but you’ll need to recalculate the stitches and rows for a 4” x 4” gauge swatch to achieve the desired size.
I highly recommend using raffia yarn for this project. It is very portable and durable; I can fold it and carry it in my bag without worrying about deformation.
