Rain is not sad! You obtain the mitten’s instructions and the wrist-warmer’s instructions with this pattern. The wrist-warmers are easier than the mittens. The rainbow section of the mittens needs a little bit more concentration: The yarn doesn’t follow in the back of the work, but wait for the next row to be used. But you also may use duplicata stitch after mitten is made if you prefer.
You’ll need
For mittens:
40 g of fingering weight yarn for the main color(mc),
30 g for the contrasting color (cc)
remainings of 4 other colors.
For wrist-warmers:
35 g of fingering weight yarn for the main color,
25 g for the contrasting color
remainings of yarns in 4 colors.
For both: 5 dpns of 2.5 mm or for a gauge of 37 sts X 37 rows in stranded.
Safety pins or lost yarn (to hold thumb sts).
Size
With mentioned gauge, mittens (or wrist-wamers) should fit to a 7.5’’/19 cm width hand and (for mittens) a 7’’/18 cm long hand, without wrist. Increase size of needles (up to 3mm) to obtain wider mittens, like 9’’/23 cm for circumference and (for mittens) 8’’/20 cm long.

La pluie n’a rien de triste! Ce patron comprend les explications pour les mitaines et les réchauffe-poignets. Les réchauffe-poignets sont plus facile que les mitaines, qui, elles, demandent un peu plus de concentration à la section de l’arc-en-ciel : La laine ne suit pas comme pour le jacquard, mais reste en attente car il s’agit d’une ou 2 ms seulement. Mais vous pouvez aussi attendre et faire l’arc-en-ciel en jacquard rebrodé une fois la mitaine terminée.
Fourniture
Pour les mitaines,
40 g de laine no 1 pour la couleur principale (cp)
30 g pour la couleur contrastante (cc)
des restes de laine de 4 différentes couleurs.
Réchauffe-poignet:
35 g de laine no 1 pour la cp,
25 g pour la cc
des restes de laine de 4 couleurs.
Pour les 2 : 5 aiguilles double-pointes de 2.5 mm ou pour une tension de 37 m X 37 rgs en jacquard.
Épingles de sureté ou laine perdue.
Grandeur
Avec l’échantillon mentionné, les mitaines devraient faire à une main d’environ 19 cm/7.5’’ de tour, et (pour la mitaine), 18 cm/7’’ de long. Augmentez la grosseur des aiguilles jusqu’à 3 mm pour une main un peu plus large et grande comme environ 23 cm/9’’ de tour et 20 cm/8’’ de long
