This pattern was free between June 29 and July 3, 2021, to raise awareness and protest against the new anti-LGBTQ law passed in Hungary (which poses as a “child protection law”, however, it links homosexuality with paedophilia and, as it prohibits sharing content on homosexuality or sex reassignment to people under 18 in school sex education programs, films or advertisements, it makes the situation of LGBTQ teens much harder than it already was, and stigmatises the community).

I am going to donate all my net income made with this design to Háttér Társaság, a Hungarian LGBTQ civil organisation, in the second half of 2021. If you have downloaded the pattern for free and wish to donate, you can do so directly (links on their website).

Gauge is tighter closer to the edges and looser in the middle after blocking (as is often the case with non-rectangular shawls). Obtaining the gauge given is not crucial for a successful project but will affect the finished size and the yardage needed.
