Rainbow is a cheerful Icelandic-style children’s sweater featuring a traditional seamless circular yoke worked with a self-striping rainbow yarn.

The sweater is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up. The body and sleeves are worked separately in the round, then joined to form the stranded colorwork yoke. Small coordinating motifs decorate the hem and cuffs.

The pattern includes five sizes for children aged approximately 1–6 years. Choose a size using the finished chest measurements rather than age alone.

YARN
The original sweater combines black Léttlopi with a long-repeat self-striping rainbow yarn. Other aran-weight yarns that produce the correct gauge may also be used.

A solid main color makes the rainbow yoke especially striking, but the pattern works beautifully in lighter, more colorful combinations, too.
