When I was pregnant with my second child, I decided to knit a newborn blanket. I wanted a fast knit, warm, soft, and as I was in a colorful phase, something colored and cheery. I have always loved rainbow knits, and I thought it would suit perfectly whatever the gender was. I imagined this simple pattern, fast knit (US 8 needles), and very warm, so I chose a 100 % merino yarn. This yarn is produced by one of the last family-owned spinnery still in operation in France, which was founded by my great great ( !) grandfather in 1830. The spinnery produces lots of other beautiful yarns, mostly natural. If you like my pattern, feel free to use it, and don’t forget to visit our yarns on ravelry and at the spinnery’s online store ( Filature du Valgaudemar) which sells internationnally ! ;-)
