PATTERN DETAILS

The Rainbow Cardigan is a simple yet striking baby cardigan with a round neck and raglan sleeves, complete with sweet rainbow detailing on the front. The cardigan is made with Aran wool, making it quick to knit and perfect for the cooler weather.

The body of the cardigan is worked flat in one piece with the sleeves being worked in the round so that there is only two small seams at the underarms to sew together at the end.

Includes a free Knitting Techniques Guide which explains some of the techniques you need to know and includes access to my online video tutorials making this an ideal project for a confident beginner to grow their knitting skills.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

The body of the rainbow cardigan is worked flat in one piece from the bottom up in stocking stitch with a vertical rib border along the front for the button bands. Afterthought button holes are added at the end. The sleeves are worked in the round in stocking stitch and are then joined to the body with raglan shaping. The neckband is picked up and knit after the body has been cast off. Finally, the rainbow is embroidered to the front to finish.
