Ever heard of an eSock? It’s just a cover for your electronic items (mobile phones, compact cameras, calculators, MP3 players, etc.). It fits an original iPhone 3GS perfectly, as well as most little electronic items because it’s so stretchy. Obviously a knitted cover won’t protect them from all bumps and scratches, but this dense little sock will do a decent job. And with colours this bright, you’ll never lose your phone in your handbag again…

This free pattern is very simple and suits beginners who can cast-on, cast-off, knit and purl. I give some adaptations for more experienced knitters so they can produce an entirely seam-free item.

It’s super-fast (takes around 2 hours to produce) and is a real stash-buster because it only uses around 31.5m of double-knit weight yarn. It’s so easy to adapt, and I give lots of suggestions of how you can do it.

Could this be your ideal Christmas present pattern…?
