Crew length toe-up socks with an afterthought heel featuring a cabled slipstitch pattern in contrasting colors creates a fish scale pattern. Choose a self-striping contrast yarn in bold colors to make a statement piece or variegated softer tones for more subtle socks. Purl stitches add to the textural effect of the scales.
