This necklace was inspired by an LJ icon I saw, with seven hearts linked in a circle to form a flower. I loved it and thought, “How perfect would that be to show, not just gay pride, but poly pride?”

So I pulled out some yarn I had around that was earmarked for another rainbow project that never got off the ground, and I made this in about an hour.

The possible variations are endless, and the pattern really simple – a brand-new crocheter could likely follow it fairly easily. Make the hearts in rainbows for Pride, or in a single colour for just a pretty necklace. Make the cord longer for multiple loops, or add some cord between the hearts for the long necklaces that are in style right now. Add a string of rainbow hearts to a white straw sunhat. The possibilities are endless, and since it’s just yarn, it’s completely hypo-allergenic.
