Knitting it in the round, in worsted cotton and all in one piece with no seams or weak points makes it incredibly strong and hard-wearing.

You will be pleased to know that this bag is completely seamless, because I hate sewing up seams! You should only have two ends to sew in, at the start and the end.

Obviously if you prefer to knit a plain bag, just ignore all the instructions for changing colour!

NOTE
All instructions are for circular needles and magic loop, but obviously the whole thing can be knitted on double pointed needles if you prefer.

Yarn: worsted/aran cotton, a few grams of each colour of the rainbow (I used Drops Paris for the red, orange, blue and pink, and Paintbox Cotton for the yellow, green and purple)

You’ll need approximately 18g of red, 14g of pink, and 8g of each of the others (or around 72g of one colour if knitting it plain)

Gauge: not that important but around 10 st / 20 rows to 4” (garter stitch) on size 10.5 needles
